Dear Readers,

Let me start today's post by introducing myself, I am a "care taker" for the neighbourhood.
This blog that I had created is a blog to create awareness in the neighbourhood as crime is on the rise throughout theses years and this of course includes vandalism, high-rise littering, shop-lifting and robberies.

Reports in the recent years have shown that there had been a high rate of report regarding cars being vandalised throughout the years. This has also brought in vast amount of discussion regarding this topic.

Together with me today is Corporal Lee a police of the neighbourhood, which he would be sharing some tips on how to prevent vandalism of cars.

So let’s begin by learning about the top ten act of vandalism of cars in Singapore.
1. Scratch paintwork and/ or being “keyed” (43%)

2. Damaged to wing mirror (23%)

3. Smashed windows (21%)
4. Snapped aerials (9%)
5.Smashed lights (7%)
6.Snapped wipers (5%)
7. Slashed tyres (5%)

8. Dents (5%)
9. Badge theft (4%)
10. Spray paint/ graffiti on cars (3%)

Next we will talk about the top five places where vandalism occurs:
1.Street outside home with street light.
2. Car park with lighting
3.Driveway
4. Street/car park/at work without lighting
5. Street in town centre without street lighting


And lastly he would like to share about some factors that might be able to help prevent vandalism:

1.Location
-Park your cars on a well lit area
-Add in security system

2.Time


Next we have a Ms/Mr Tan whom had witnessed someone vandalising a car whom is afraid to speek up.
